RESOLUTION APPROVING USE OF TOM EVANS PLAZA
FOR SNOW MAGIC EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street plans to host its Snow Magic Celebration from November
8,2019,through December 24,2019; the event will kick off on November 8 with the tree-lighting
ceremony, open houses, and horse and carriage rides; and,
WHEREAS,to facilitate this event,the organizers are requesting the use of Tom Evans Plaza
on November 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the tree-lighting ceremony; and,
WHEREAS, Snow Magic provides an opportunity to draw residents and visitors to the
Downtown, and the event supports local businesses during the holiday shopping season.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the use of Tom Evans Plaza for the Snow Magic's tree-lighting ceremony on November 8,2019,
is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 8t1i day of October, 2019.
