RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF BLANKET VENDING LICENSE
FOR SNOW MAGIC EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street plans to host its Snow Magic Celebration from November
8,2019,through December 24,2019; the event will kick off on November 8 with the tree-lighting
ceremony, open houses, and horse and carriage rides; and,
WHEREAS, a Blanket Vending License has been requested for the entire Downtown from
November 8 through December 24 to allow stores to display and sell merchandise; and,
WHEREAS,to facilitate this event,the organizers are requesting a waiver of the$50 fee for
the Blanket Vending License fee; and,
WHEREAS, Snow Magic provides an opportunity to draw residents and visitors to the
Downtown, and the event supports local businesses during the holiday shopping season.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that waiver of the fee for a Blanket Vending License from November 8,2019 through December 24,
2019, for the Snow Magic Event is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 8t1i day of October, 2019.
