HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond Approval for Water Plant Radio Telemetry Upgrades RESOLUTION NO. 19-374 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WATER PLANT RADIO TELEMETRY UPGRADES FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water Plant Radio Telemetry Upgrades;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 12t'day of June,2019,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Water& Pollution Control Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 13'day of May, 2019; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Jetco,Inc.of Altoona,Iowa, in the amount of$53,200 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and Jetco,Inc.,of Altoona,Iowa, in the amount of$53,200 dated the 25t' day of June, 2019, for the Water Plant Radio Telemetry Upgrades as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$53,200 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 23'day of July, 2019. Diane . Voss, City Clerk John A.
