RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF FEE FOR USAGE OF ELECTRICITY
FOR THE OCTAGON'S ART FESTIVAL
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the Octagon Center for the Arts plans to host the 49t1i Annual Art Festival in
Downtown Ames on Sunday,September 22,2019;and,the event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
and conclude at 4:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS,to facilitate this event, organizers have requested a waiver of fee for the usage
of electricity; and,
WHEREAS, Octagon staff has contacted affected businesses door-to-door, and signatures
confirming the notification have been obtained from nearly all affected businesses; and,
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street has expressed its full support of the event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the waiver of fee for usage of electricity for The Octagon Center for the Octagon's Art Festival
on September 22, 2019, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 23rd day of July, 2019.
