RESOLUTION NO. 03-014
Approving final plat of Palensky Subdivision,Story County,Iowa
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Ames, Iowa:
1. The City Council has authority, as described in article III, section 38A of the Constitution of the
State of Iowa and in chapters 354 and 355 of the Code of Iowa(2002) and under the ordinances of
the City of Ames, to review and approve subdivision plats of lands lying within the corporate lim-
its of the city and within two miles thereof.
2. Edwin B.Finch and Mary E.Finch,husband and wife,have executed a Consent to Platting for a
subdivision to be known as Palensky Subdivision, Story County,Iowa,and have requested that the
city review and approve the subdivision plat.
3. The City Council finds that said subdivision plat complies with all requirements of chapters 354
and 355 of the Code of Iowa and the platting ordinance of the City ofAmes.
4. The City Council accepts and approves the subdivision plat to be known as:
Palensky Subdivision,Story County,Iowa,
which is a replat of certain real property more particularly described as:
A part of the West Fractional '/z of the Northwest Fractional '/4 of Section 18, Township
83 North,Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at the Northwest Comer of said Section 18; thence North 89' 46'
42" East, 1,482.33 feet to the Northeast Corner of the Northwest Fractional '/4 of the
Northwest Fractional '/4 of said Section 18; thence South 00' 00' 58" East, 2,633.80 feet
to the Southeast Corner of the Southwest Fractional '/4 of the Northwest Fractional '/4 of
said Section 18; thence South 89 52' 00" West, 1,483.90 feet to the West '/4 Corner of
said Section 18; thence North 00' 02' 11"East, 1,316.83 feet to the Southwest Corner of
the Northwest Fractional '/4 of the Northwest Fractional '/4 of said Section 18; thence
North 00'00'00"East, 90.80 feet along the west line of said Section 18 to the Southwest
Comer of Windy 500 Subdivision; thence following the boundary of said Windy 500
Subdivision North 89' 33' 59" East, 839.18 feet; thence North 00' 33' 47"East, 286.82
feet; thence North 890 12'28"West, 842.06 feet to the Northwest Corner of Windy 500
Subdivision;thence North 000 00'00"East, 919.09 feet to the point of beginning.
5. The Clerk is authorized and directed to certify and affix to said plat a true copy of this resolution
in accordance with sections 354.8 and 354.11 of the Code of Iowa.
6. The City Council finds this resolution appropriate and necessary to protect, preserve, and improve
the rights,privileges,property,peace, safety,health,welfare,comfort, and convenience of the City
of Ames and its citizens, all as provided for in and permitted by section 364.1 of the Code of Iowa
(2002).
7. All other resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed. If
any part of this resolution is adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not af-
fect the validity of the resolution or action of the City Council as a whole or any part thereof not
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and af-
ter the date of its approval as provided by law.

The City Council of Ames,Iowa, met in regular session in the council chambers,City Hall,Ames,
Iowa, at 7:00 P.M., on January 14,2003, with the Mayor presiding and the following Council Mem-
bers present and absent:

Absent: None
Council Member Cross introduced the resolution and moved its adoption. Council
Member Gnnrili11P seconded the motion to adopt. Upon consideration,the Mayor put the question
on the motion. The roll was called and the Council Members voted as follows:
Yes: Cross, Goodhue, Hoffman, Mahayni, Vegge, Wirth
No: NnnP Absent/Abstain: None
The Mayor declared the resolution adopted.
