Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond Approval for Scaffolding & Related Servcies & Supply Contract RESOLUTION NO. 19-344 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SCAFFOLDING&RELATED SERVICES & SUPPLY CONTRACT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Scaffolding & Related Services & Supply Contract; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 19t'day of June,2019,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Electric Services Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 20'day of May, 2019; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of HTH Companies, Inc., of Union, Missouri, in the amount not to exceed $60,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and HTH Companies,Inc. of Union, Missouri, in the amount not to exceed $60,000 dated the 25' day of June, 2019, for the Scaffolding & Related Services & Supply Contract as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America of Hartford,Connecticut, as surety thereon, in the amount of$60,000 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 9'day of July, 2019. Diane . Voss, City Clerk John A.
