HomeMy WebLinkAboutA002 - Council Action Form dated January 11, 2005 a' ITEM # OV DATE 01/11/05 COUNCIL ACTION FORM SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE FINAL PLAT FOR JAMISON SUBDIVISION BACKGROUND: The applicants are requesting that the Final Plat for Jamison Subdivision be approved.The proposed subdivision is located approximately 5/8ths of a mile northwest of the Ames corporate limits at 3244 Cameron School Road and includes approximately 3.12 acres. The property owners propose to divide the land into two single-family residential lots and one lot, ten feet in width, to be included as part of Cameron School Road. The size of each proposed lot is described as follows: Lot 1: 1.34 acres Lot 2: 1.66 acres Lot A: 0.12 acres (land to be included as part of Cameron School Road) Total: 3.12 acres The Story County zoning for the proposed subdivision is "A-1" (Agricultural). The size of lots and the residential land use is consistent with the "A-1" zoning district regulations. On December 14, 2004, the City Council passed Resolution No. 04-536, approving the request for waiver of subdivision regulations for property at 3244 Cameron School Road, and passed Resolution No. 04-537, approving the Covenant for Assessment of Costs of Improvements and the Covenant Pertaining to Water Service. ALTERNATIVES: 1. The City Council can approve the Final Plat for Jamison Subdivision. 2. The City Council can deny approval of the Final Plat for Jamison Subdivision. 3. The City Council can refer the Final Plat back to staff and the property owners for additional information. CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDED ACTION: It is the recommendation of the City Manager that the City Council approve Alternative#1. This will approve the Final Plat for Jamison Subdivision. All subdivision requirements have been fulfilled.
