RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2
ON CONTRACT WITH
SARGENT & LUNDY, LLC,
FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE REPAIR OF
RDF STORAGE BIN
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, it has been determined that a Change Order is necessary and proper on the
above Contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that Change Order No. 2 on contract with Sargent & Lundy, LLC, of Chicago, Illinois, for the
additional engineering services for the repair of RDF Storage Bin be approved and adopted as
attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference.

The contract is modified as follows upon execution of this Change Order. The changes included in this
change order are made in order to carry out the original intent of the contract. The changes included in
this change order are to be accomplished in accordance with the terms. stipulations, and conditions of
the original contract as though included herein.
DESCRIPTION NTE AMOUNT
Change order to Sargent & Lundy to provide additional engineering
services necessary to rebid and repair the RDF Storage Bin as described
in a letter dated March 15, 2019. from Sargent & Lundy. These additional
engineering services include
1) Revisions to the plans and specifications due to beneficial design $15 600
changes affecting the repair scope of work discovered or initiated by
staff and Sargent & Lundy during the initial bid period. Additionally,
bidders asked questions or made suggestions during the initial bid
period that also resulted in beneficial changes to the design and the
scope of work for the repair.
2) Updating the engineer's cost estimate to reflect the changes in the $3.800
scope of work.
3) Allowance for two meetings at the power plant site to support the $6.400
rebid of the project The first meeting is for the pre-bid meeting with (including
potential bidders. The second meeting is for the kick-off meeting expenses)
with the selected contractor.
4) The preparation of as-built drawings for the project. $7.900
TOTAL (not-to-exceed): $33.700
