HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Professional Service Agreement for the 2019 Downtown Parking Study RESOLUTION NO. 19-122 RESOLUTION APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR THE 2019 DOWNTOWN PARKING STUDY FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on November 13, 2018, City Council directed staff to begin a study on parking in Downtown Ames,which was to include stakeholder meetings,a parking utilization supply/demand analysis, alternatives analysis for both existing and future parking; and, WHEREAS,staff issued a Request for Proposals(RFP)and received submittals from four firms that were scored using criteria that included project understanding and approach, previous experience, team structure and key personnel, responsiveness and ability to perform work, proposed project schedule, references, and estimated contract cost; and, WHEREAS, Walker Consultants was found to be the most qualified for this project and staff contacted Walker Consultants to begin developing a contract scope and fee; and, WHEREAS,the project will be broken down into four main tasks: 1. Parking Supply/Demand Study 2. Parking Alternatives Analysis 3. Review of Parking Policies and Practices 4. Financial Plan and Final Report WHEREAS,there is also an option to add additional parking occupancy and turnover counts if the City feels that the base amount of data collection is not adequate; and, WHEREAS, the Professional Service Agreement is set at a total not to exceed $70,000 unless a written amendment to the Agreement is agreed upon by both Walker Consultants and the City; and, WHEREAS, the budget for this study is $45,731 from the General Fund and $24,269 from the unobligated Road Use Tax Fund for a total of$70,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that Professional Services Agreement with Walker Consultants for the 2019 Downtown Parking Study is hereby approved in the amount not to exceed$70,000.
