Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Construction of 2017/18 Accessibility Enhancement Program (Airport Road Sidewalk) RESOLUTION NO. 19-047 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2017/18 ACCESSIBILITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM(AIRPORT ROAD SIDEWALK FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2017/18 Accessibility Enhancement Program (Airport Road Sidewalk); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 16t' day of January, 2019, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 11'day of December,2018; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Manatts,Inc. of Ames,Iowa, in the amount of$170,287.40 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said prof ect;and, WHEREAS,the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Manatts, Inc. of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$170,287.40 dated the 22' day of January, 2019, for the 2017/18 Accessibility Enhancement Program (Airport Road Sidewalk) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$170,287.40 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 12'day of February, 2019. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John A.
