HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2020 Federal Airport Improvements Program RESOLUTION NO. 18-635 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2020 FEDERAL AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, in order to comply with an annual requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the City submits an Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to the FAA showing the next five Federal Fiscal Years of airport projects; and, WHEREAS, the information contained in the Federal AIP is then copied into the Airport Improvement Program of the City's own Capital Improvements Plan to ensure the obligation of local matching funds required for each project; and, WHEREAS, the 2020-2024 AIP five-year program project list is for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) as follows: Electrical Vault&Terminal Demolition FFY 2020 South Apron Rehabilitation FFY 2021 Hangar Repairs - Replace Doors (Iowa DOT Funded) FFY 2022 Hangar Repairs (Iowa DOT Funded) FFY 2023 South Apron Expansion FFY 2024 Federal Funds: $360,000 (FFY 2020); $753,570 (FFY 2021); $585,000 (FY 2024) State Funds: $150,000 (FFY 2022); $150,000 (FFY 2023) Airport Construction Fund: $40,000(FFY 2020);$83,730(FFY 2021);30,000(FFY 2022); $30,000 (FFY 2023); $65,000 (FFY 2024) WHEREAS,the remaining projects are in the Long-Range Needs Assessment,which include Relocation of the Fuel Farm ($675,000), New Maintenance Hangar ($1,000,000), Relocation of Automated Weather Observing System($80,000),and Expansion of Landside Parking to the North ($500,000); and, WHEREAS, the projects shown in the Long-Range Needs Assessment do not obligate funding and may change in priority after adoption of the updated Airport Master Plan in 2019. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the 2020 Federal Airport Improvements Program is hereby approved. ADOPTED THIS 11`' day of December, 2018. Diane R.
