HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Bid Due Date Change for the RDF Storage Bin Repair Project RESOLUTION NO. 18-604 RESOLUTION APPROVING BID DUE DATE CHANGE FOR THE RDF STORAGE BIN REPAIR PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,on August 28,2018,City Council approved the plans and specifications for the RDF Storage Bin Repair project and set October 10,2018,as the bid due date and October 23,2018, as the date of hearing and award of contract; and, WHEREAS,on October 9,2018,City Council approved the extension of the bid due to date to November 14, 2018,and set November 27,2018, as the new hearing and award of contract; and, WHEREAS, several significant design and engineering changes have been made since it originally went out to bid and, in order to simplify and improve the constructability and potentially reduce the cost of the repairs to the bins; and, WHEREAS, staff recommends that it would be in the City's best interest to extend the bid due date to allow interested bidders sufficient time to process the design changes and to better cope with the complexity of the project in order to be able to assemble a quality comprehensive bid; and, WHEREAS, an extension is being requested again to set December 5, 2018, as the bid due date, and December 11, 2018, as the date of hearing and award contract; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, to approve the date and specification changes for the RDF Storage Bin Repair project and set December 5, 2018, as the new bid due date and December 11, 2018 as the new date of hearing and award of contract.
