RESOLUTION APPROVING INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR
POLICE ENFORCEMENT OF TOBACCO,ALTERNATIVE NICOTINE,
AND VAPOR PRODUCTS REGULATIONS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting permission to renew a 28E
Intergovernmental Agreement with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division for enforcement of
tobacco, alternative nicotine, and vapor product laws; and,
WHEREAS, this Agreement provides that the Alcoholic Beverages Division will pay the
City of Ames $75 for each compliance check conducted by the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS,the Police Department will use this funding to continue compliance checks with
local retailers related to underage tobacco and alternative nicotine and vapor products enforcement
activities; no matching funds are required with this grant; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the renewal of the 28E Agreement with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division of the State of
Iowa for tobacco, alternative nicotine, and vapor products enforcement is hereby approved.
