HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amendment to Major Site Plan for 2151 Cottonwood Road RESOLUTION NO. 18-533 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO MAJOR SITE PLAN FOR 2151 COTTONWOOD ROAD FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,on October 19,2017,City Council approved the Major Site Development Plan for 2151 Cottonwood Road(Lot 5 in the Village Park Subdivision) and this development includes a 12-unit apartment building, and two six-stall garages; and, WHEREAS, the property owner and developer, Hunziker Development Company LLC, is requesting approval of an amendment to the Major Site Development Plan for the following changes: 1. A change in the exterior siding material for both 6-stall garages from galvalume finish corrugated metal siding to vinyl siding with brick accents. 2. An increase in size of the east garage by five feet to accommodate a handicap- accessible parking stall increase,and the west garage by four feet to widen four stalls by one foot each. WHEREAS, The garage is set to the rear of the site. To the north is Kristofferson Park and to the west is a walkway connection to the park and no changes are proposed to the 12-unit apartment building, parking areas, or storm water management features; and, WHEREAS, on September 5, 2018, the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the proposed amendments to the Major Site Development Plan and the Commission voted unanimously to approve the amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Amendment to the Major Site Plan for 2151 Cottonwood Road be approved with the proposed revisions to the garage siding material and changes to the dimensions of each garage.
