RESOLUTION APPROVING IOWA CLEAN AIR ATTAINMENT PROGRAM GRANT FOR
WEST AMES CHANGES(#12 LILAC NEW ROUTE &LILAC BUS EXPANSION); ADDED
FREQUENCY FOR SERVICE: #1 RED,#7 PURPLE,#11 CHERRY)FOR CYRIDE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program is established by the Iowa Department of
Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation provides, on a competitive basis, funds for
transportation projects with the highest potential for reducing transportation related air pollution and
congestion; and,
WHEREAS, CyRide has prepared an application for Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program funding
for service expansion in west Ames with a new route#12 Lilac and bus expansion and added frequency on
#1 Red,#7 Purple, and#I I Cherry; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the project will not begin until the Iowa Clean Air Attainment
Program funds are received after October 1, 2019; and,
WHEREAS,one ofthe grant requirements is for the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization,
by resolution, declaring the sponsor's proposed project or program conforms to the Metropolitan Planning
Organization's regional transportation planning process; and,
WHEREAS,for Metropolitan Planning Organizations,the project or program must be identified in
the fiscally constrained Transportation Plan, and,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization
Transportation Policy Committee that the project (a new route #12 Lilac and bus expansion and added
frequency on#1 Red,#7 Purple, and#11 Cherry) shown in the Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program grant
application,which conforms to the Metropolitan Planning Organization's regional transportation planning
process,is hereby certified.
