Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for 2017/18 Low Point Drainage Improvements (Ridgetop Road) RESOLUTION NO. 18-455 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2017/18 LOW POINT DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS (RIDGETOP ROAD) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2017/18 Low Point Drainage Improvements(Ridgetop Road);and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 20t' day of June, 2018, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 17'day of May, 2018; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Ames Trenching & Excavating of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$68,888.88 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Ames Trenching&Excavating of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$68,888.88 dated the 3 1"day of July, 2018, for the 2017/18 Low Point Drainage Improvements (Ridgetop Road) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bond Company(Mutual)of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$68,888.88 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 31 st day of July, 2018. c'v4mAti� Diane R.
