RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY
PRIMARY CLARIFIER REPLACEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Water Pollution Control Facility Primary Clarifier Replacement Project; and, pursuant to notice and
hearing, bids were received on the 13t' day of June, 2018, as called for in the detailed plans and
specifications as prepared by the Finance Department,Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk
on the 8t' day of May, 2018; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Woodruff Construction,LLC
of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$284,730 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of
said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been
executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Woodruff Construction,LLC of
Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $284,730 dated the loth day of July, 2018, for the Water
Polluution Control Facility Primary Clarifier Replacement Project as provided for in the detailed
plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said
contractor with United Fire and Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon,
in the amount of$284,730 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS loth day of July, 2018.
