HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for WPC Facility Structural Rehabilitation, Phase 2 RESOLUTION NO. 18-381 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY STRUCTURAL REHABILITATION, PHASE 2 FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water Pollution Control Facility Structural Rehabilitation,Phase 2;and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 23rd day of May, 2018, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department, Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 23rd day of April, 2018; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Minturn,Inc. of Brooklyn, Iowa,in the amount of$558,600 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said prof ect; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Minturn,Inc.of Brooklyn,Iowa, in the amount of$558,600 dated the 12t' day of June, 2018, for the Water Pollution Control Facility Structural Rehabilitation, Phase 2 as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants National Bonding,Inc., of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$558,600 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 26"'day of June, 2018. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John .
