RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF FEES FOR USAGE OF ELECTRICITY AND
BLANKET VENDING LICENSE FOR MIDNIGHT MADNESS ROAD RACE EVENTS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,the annual Midnight Madness races will be held in the downtown area on Saturday,July
14, 2018, and the event includes 5k, 10k, and kid runs, followed by a beer garden and activities near City
Hall; and,
WHEREAS, organizers are requesting that the following be closed for post-race activities from 6
p.m. on July 14,to 1 a.m.on July 15: Clark Avenue from 5t'Street to 6ffi Street; and,East City Hall Parking
Lot N; and,
WHEREAS, organizers are further requesting a waiver of fees for electricity used in Lot N and in
the Main street Cultural District, as well as waiving the cost for an electrical distribution box rental; and,
WHEREAS, Midnight Madness organizers are also asking that the $50 fee for a blanket Vending
License be waived for the event.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that the
waiver of fees for electricity and the blanket Vending License for the Midnight Madness Road Race events
on July 14-15, 2018,are hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 26ffi day of June, 2018.
