HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Transfer of unspent FY 2017/18 Funds for Rosedale Emergency Shelter to Transitional Living Emergency Assistance for Basic Material Needs RESOLUTION NO. 18-363 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF $18,013 IN UNSPENT FY 2017/18 FUNDS FOR YOUTH AND SHELTER SERVICES (YSS) ROSEDALE EMERGENCY SHELTER TO TRANSITIONAL LIVING EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FOR BASIC MATERIAL NEEDS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the City has an ASSET Agreement with Youth and Shelter Services(YSS)that includes $31,750 for Emergency Shelter Services to be provided in FY 2017/18; and, WHEREAS, this service has seen reduced demand compared to what was anticipated, and only$13,737 has been drawn down; and, WHEREAS, the Transitional Living Emergency Assistance for Basic Needs program was allocated$2,250 in the 2017/18 ASSET Agreement,but those funds were completely exhausted as of September 2017; and, WHEREAS, the two programs are similar in that both provide services to homeless youth in the community; and, WHEREAS, YSS has requested to be allowed to move $18,013 in unspent funds for the Rosedale Shelter to the Transitional Living Emergency Assistance for Basic Needs service. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the transfer of$18,013 in unspent ASSET funds from the FY 2017/18 Rosedale Shelter program to the Transitional Living Emergency Assistance for Basic Needs service is hereby approved.
