HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Electrical Maintenance Services for Power Plant, contract and bond RESOLUTION NO. 18-354 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR POWER PLANT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Electrical Maintenance Services for Power Plant; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 9'day of May, 2018, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department, Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 9`'day of April, 2018; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Tri-City Electric Company of Iowa of Davenport, Iowa, in the amount of$135,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Tri-City Electric Company of Iowa of Davenport, Iowa, in the amount of$135,000 dated the 22nd day of May, 2018, for the Electrical Maintenance Services for Power Plant as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with United Fire&Casualty Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$135,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 12t''day of June, 2018. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk John .
