RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF CONTRACT FOR 2018/19 CONCRETE
CRUSHING WITH REILLY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF OSSIAN, IOWA,
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,this contract is for the 2018/19 fiscal year for crushing concrete, salvaged and
stockpiled from various street projects,to be crushed into various sizes and reused for other prof ects;
and,
WHEREAS, the operating budget for 2018/19 for Public Works Department includes
$50,000 for concrete crushing; and,
WHEREAS,the estimated cost ofthis contract,based on a quantity of 8,000 tons,is$51,000;
and,
WHEREAS, if usage exceeds the budgeted amount, the operating budget will be amended
using savings from the curb and gutter program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the contract for concrete crushing for FY 2018/19 with Reilly Construction Company of Ossian,
Iowa, in the amount of$51,000 is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 24th day of April, 2018.
