Dear Ms. Scott:
The following information is provided, on behalf of the Uthe Land Development
Company LLC, to address comments of Jim Stricker's letter dated May 2, 2001
and our meeting with you, Dennis Schrodt, and Erwin Klaas on May 11, 2001.
The following sediment and erosion control measures have been taken to retain
sediment on the development property.
1. The temporary sediment basin has been enlarged. Excavation of the basin
increased the area and depth, to create approximately 73,500 to 84,000 cubic
feet of total storage (based on an average depth of 3.5 to 4 feet). An existing
utility line, to be relocated by Qwest, prevents us from enlarging the basin
further to the north and east.
2. Silt fence has been installed along the top of the temporary sediment basin
berm to protect against sediment leaving the site during overtopping of the
berm.
3. Several rows of silt fence have been installed in the ditch along G.W. Carver
Avenue, west of Valley View Road, to protect against sediment from the
residential lot areas being transported to the temporary sediment basin.

The following sediment and erosion control measures are planned to retain
sediment on the development property. These measures will be completed
immediately following fine grading of the residential lot areas by the grading
contractor, which is tentatively scheduled for later this week.
4. Silt fence will be installed along the north and east sides of Valley View Road
and Bridgeport Drive, to protect against sediment from the residential lot
areas being transported to the temporary sediment basin.
5. All disturbed areas south of the contractor access road (future Harrison Road)
will be seeded with a temporary stabilization mix.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office at your
convenience.
Sincerely,
VYHKS a co.
