RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR FURNISHING
ELECTRICAL MATERIALS FOR TOP-0-HOLLOW SUBSTATION
(BID NO. 4 - STEEL STRUCTURES)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Furnishing Electrical Materials for the Top-O-Hollow Substation (Bid No. 4 - Steel Structures); and,
pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 7th day of March, 2018, as called for in the
detailed plans and specifications as prepared by DGR Engineering and filed with the City Clerk on the
8th day of February,2018; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Kriz-Davis Company - d/b/a
Border States Electric Supply, in the amount of $42,003.18 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor,and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Kriz-Davis Company - d/b/a
Border States Electric Supply, in the amount of $42,003.18 dated the 27th day of March, 2018,
for the Furnishing Electrical Materials for the Top-O-Hollow Substation (Bid No. 4 - Steel
Structures) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble
hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Travelers Casualty and Surety
Company of America of Hartford, Connecticut as surety thereon, in the amount of $42,003.18
filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 1 Oth day of April, 2018.
