HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2018 Urban Revitalization tax abatement requests RESOLUTION NO. 18-071 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, Iowa State House Association of Delta Gamma Fraternity, LLC, has submitted an application dated February 1, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 313 Lynn Avenue; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Beta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity Corporation Board has submitted an application dated January 12, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2136 Lincoln Way; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Gamma Pi Delta Tau Delta, Inc., has submitted an application dated January 3, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2121 Sunset Drive; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Campus Plaza, LC, has submitted an application dated December 11, 2017, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 120, 122, and 124 Hayward Avenue; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the Campustown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule:3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, 301 Main, LLC, has submitted an application dated January 31, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 301 Main Street; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the Downtown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule:3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, TPM Properties, LC, has submitted an application dated January 19, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 3505 Lincoln Way, Units 102, 103, 104, and 105; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the Walnut Ridge Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, W-S Properties, LLC, has submitted an application dated January 19, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 3505 Lincoln Way, Units 101 and 201 through 208; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the Walnut Ridge Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, TurnKey Investments, LLC, has submitted an application dated January 19, 2018, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 3515 Lincoln Way, Units 101, 102, 103, 104, 105 and 201 through 208; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the Walnut Ridge Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, D&N Ventures, LLC, has submitted an application dated October 30, 2017, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 306 South 3' Street; and WHEREAS, said property is located within the South Lincoln Neighborhood Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
