Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for Furnishing Metalclad Switchgear and Control Panels for Top-O-Hollow Substation RESOLUTION NO. 17-691 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR FURNISHING OF 15KV OUTDOOR METALCLAD SWITCHGEAR AND 69KV CONTROL PANELS FOR TOP-0-HOLLOW SUBSTATION FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be performed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as Furnishing of 15kV Outdoor Metalclad Switchgear and 69kV Control Panels for Top-O-Hollow Substation; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 271h day of September, 2017, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the DGR Engineering and filed with the City Clerk on the 18th day of August,2017; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Harold K. Scholz Company of Ralston, Nebraska, in the amount of $615,923.40 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor,and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Harold K. Scholz Company of Ralston, Nebraska, in the amount of$615,923.40, dated the 28th day of November, 2017, for the Furnishing of 15kV Outdoor Metalclad Switchgear and 69kV Control Panels for Top-O-Hollow Substation as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Universal Surety Company of Lincoln, Nebraska, as surety thereon, in the amount of $615,923.40 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 12' day of December, 2017. Awo al ca44'q'0e*g Diane R.
