The undersigned, Frank Schill and Sons, Inc. of Ames, ory
County, Iowa, in consideration of the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant to the
City of Ames, Iowa, a municipal corporation, its successors and
assigns, a perpetual right to construct, reconstruct, maintain and
use its electric lines, consisting of poles, wires, overhead and
underground cable, fixtures, anchors and other similar equipment or
any part thereof, for the sole purpose of general utility use and
for conveying electric current for power and light purposes,
telephone, cable, gas lines and drainage together with the right to
go upon the premises, make repairs, install lines and to extend to
any telephone, electric, power or cable company the right to use
jointly with grantee, any pole placed pursuant to the provisions
thereof together with the right to trim any trees to allow for
clearance of at least four (4) feet where necessary to secure
adequate clearance for the safe operation of electric lines upon,
underground or adjacent to that real estate located in Country
Gables Eighth Addition to Ames, Iowa, and more specifically

1. The East Ten ( 10) Feet and the West Ten (10) Feet of
Lot 1.
2 . The East Ten ( 10) Feet, the West Ten (10) Feet and
the South Ten (10) Feet of Lot 2 .
3 . The East Ten ( 10) Feet, the North Ten ( 10) Feet and
the South Ten ( 10) Feet of Lot 3 .
4 . The North Ten (10) Feet and the South Ten ( 10) Feet '
of Lot 4 .

the East Ten ( 10) Feet of Lot 12 .
13 . The North Ten ( 10) Feet, the East Ten (10) Feet and
the West Ten (10) Feet of Lot 13.
The foregoing right is granted upon the express condition that
the City of Ames will assume liability for all damage to the herein
described property caused by the said City's failure to use due
care in its exercise of the granted rights.

executing the within and foregoing instrument, that no seal has
been procured by the said corporation; that said instrument was
signed on behalf of said corporation by authority of its Board of
Directors; and that the said FRANK A. SCHILL and JANE E. SCHILL as
such officers acknowledged the execution of said instrument to be
the voluntary act and deed of said corporation, by it and by them
voluntarily executed.
