RESOLUTION NO. 17-569
RESOLUTION PROPOSING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE, BY QUIT
CLAIM DEED, TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CENTRAL IOWA, OF
SUCH RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST AS THE PARTIES SHALL HAVE IN
CERTAIN LAND CONSTITUTING PROPERTYAT 1125 MAXWELL AVENUE
IN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA; SETTING DATE, TIME, AND PLACE OF A
PUBLIC HEARING THEREON AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. That it is hereby proposed that the right, title, and interest of the City of Ames,
Iowa, in certain land constituting property at 1125 Maxwell Avenue, said land being more specifically
described as:
PARCEL H:
LOT 1 AND THE SOUTH FOUR FEET OF VACATED EAST 12 STREET
ABUTTING SAID LOT 1, BLOCK 2, SUNRISE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
AMES, STORY COUNTY, IOWA, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 1, BLOCK 2, SUNRISE
ADDITION, TO THE CITY OF AMES, STORY COUNTY, IOWA: THENCE N
00058'53"W,A DISTANCE OF 4.00 FEET:THENCE N 89°05'49"W,ADISTANCE
118.90 FEET; THENCE S 01007'27"E ON THE WEST LINE OF SAID LOT 1, A
DISTANCE OF 54.11 FEET; THENCE S 89°09'06"E ON THE SOUTH LINE OF
SAID LOT 1, A DISTANCE OF 118.76 FEET; THENCE N 00°58'53"W ON THE
EAST LINE OF SAID BLOCK 2, A DISTANCE OF 54.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF
BEGINNING; THE DESCRIBED BOUNDARY CONTAINS 0.14 ACRES (6,421.0
S.F.), MORE OR LESS
said land not being necessary to city purposes, shall be conveyed to Habitat for Humanity of Central
Iowa, in exchange for$5,000.00.
Section Two. A public hearing on the proposed conveyance as aforesaid shall be held as
required by law to coincide with the City Council meeting of September 26, 2017, which will begin at
6:00 p.m in the City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa.
