HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Purchase of Public Safety software maintenance RESOLUTION NO. 17470 RESOLUTION WAIVING FORMAL BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PUBLIC SAFETY SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on June 14, 2005, the City entered into a 28-E Agreement with Iowa State University and the Story County Sheriffs Office supporting a joint computer network for public safety; and, WHEREAS, that Agreement included sharing of the network costs; and, WHEREAS, the total cost associated with the operation of the network was approved by the City Council as part of the FY 2017/18 budget process and included $152,372.73 for existing Superion Public Sector software maintenance; and, WHEREAS, as part of the 28E Agreement, the City is responsible for arranging and payment of software maintenance; and, WHEREAS, the cost share per terms of the Agreement are as follows: Iowa State University Public Safety - $41,070.80; Story County Sheri- $41,070.80; City of Ames Police - $41,070.80; E911 Service Board- $26,295.91; and City of Ames Fire - $2,864.43; and, WHEREAS, Superion Public Sector is the shared public safety software vendor for the computer-aided dispatch, police records, investigations, mobile, jail, phase H wireless call mapping, NCIC/state interface, and reporting applications; and, WHEREAS, the City contracts with the vendor on an annual basis for maintenance services, and Superion Public Sector is the sole provider of maintenance for these software applications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that waiver of formal bidding procedures is hereby approved, and authorization to enter into FY 2017/18 Public Safety software maintenance contracts with Superion Public Sector at a cost of $152,372.73 is hereby further approved.
