HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Deaccession of "Bouquet" art sculpture RESOLUTION NO. 17463 RESOLUTION APPROVING DEACCESSION OF "BOUQUET"ART SCULPTURE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on the recommendation of the City's Public Art Commission (PAC), the Council adopted an artwork deaccession policy to provide guidance when pieces of artwork are no longer suitable for public display; and, WHEREAS, `Bouquet," a neighborhood sculpture that was previously displayed at Brookside Park, has become damaged and is no longer safe or suitable for public display; and, WHEREAS, the sculpture was removed from the park, and the PAC is now recommending that this sculpture be permanently deaccessioned from the City's public art collection and that the sculpture be destroyed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the deaccession of the `Bouquet" art sculpture, as recommended by the Public Art Commission, is hereby approved.
