RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS TO
THE PREVIOUSLY-APPROVED WESTWOOD VILLAGE
PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, on February 28, 2006, the Council held a public hearing on changes to the
Planned Residential Development (PRD) Plan for Westwood Village; and,
WHEREAS,the Council then referred the Plan back to staff to negotiate the following issues
with the developer: 1)integration of"no left turn" signs at the two exits on Marshall; 2) extension of
the sidewalk along the full length of the south side of the property; 3) discussion of a one-way drive
intersection design in an attempt to limit traffic on Marshall; and,
WHEREAS, in separate action, the Council also required a sidewalk on the west side of
Marshall; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to the "no left turn" signs and sidewalk along the south side of the
property, all agreed that an alternative driveway design for the south drive on Marshall would be
proposed,and this drive is intended to discourage drivers exiting Westwood Village from making left
turns onto Marshall.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the proposed revised Planned Residential Development Plan for Westwood Village,that includes"no
left turn" signs at the two exits on Marshall, a sidewalk along the full length of the south side of the
property, an alternative drive intersection design, and a sidewalk on the west side of Marshall, is
hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 281h day of March, 2006.
