Home My WebLink AboutA001 - Resolution No. 76-27 adopted January 20, 1976 �l RESOLUTION NO. 76-27 BEING A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PLAT OF SECOND ADDITION, WESTBROOK SUBDIVISION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, AND ALSO ACCEPTING CERTAIN LANDS IN SAID PLATTED AREA .FOR STREET PURPOSES. WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, a plat of Second Addition, Westbrook Subdivision, being an addition to the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, and involving the land hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the said plat has been submitted to,the City Plan Com- mission as required by law and has been returned to this Council with the recommendations of the said City Plan Commission; and WHEREAS, Phil Coy and Sons, a partnership composed of Jack Coy and Richard Coy, and Broadmoor Enterprises, Inc. , are the sole owners of all of the land hereinafter described to be known as Second Addition, Westbrook Subdivision of Ames, Iowa; and L ® WHEREAS, it now appears that the said owners of said property have -y .--� met all conditions as prescribed .by Chapter 409 of the 1975 Code of Iowa as CD® o amended to date and as prescribed by the platting ordinance of the City of Ames as amended to date with respect to the platting of said addition; and, ;2:�"CC WHEREAS, the said owners of said real estate hereinafter described wJ ® then, on the llth day of August, 1975, dedicated and set apart for public use C�i US as streets and avenues certain portions of the said Second Addition, West- brook Subdivision of Ames, Iowa, as shown and designated on the plat thereof E5 M now on file with the City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, it is advisable and to the best interest of the City of Ames and of all persons concerned that the said plat be accepted and that the dedication of the streets and avenues be accepted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, that the plat of Second Addition, Westbrook Subdivision, being an addition to the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, and involving the real estate described as follows, to-wit: That part of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 5, Town- ship 83 North, Range 24. West of the 5th P. M. , Story County, Iowa, de- scribed as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section 5; thence Northerly along the East line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4 SW 1/4) of Section 5, 290. 1 feet to the point of intersection with the North right-of-way line of Westbrook Drive, which point is the point of beginning; thence North 1057'30" West along the East line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1./4 SW 1/4) of Section 5, 380. 36 feet to the Southwest (SW) corner of Lot Five (5) of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (SE 1/4 SW 1/4) of said Section 5; thence South 89°24'55" East along the South line of said Lot 5, 55. 0 feet; thence North 30°24'45" East, 100. 8 feet; thence North 1°44'40" East, 251. 2 feet; thence North 89°06'45" West, 127. 75 feet to the point of intersection with the East line of the Southwest Quarter. of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4 SW 1/4); thence North 77'01'15" West, 172. 21 feet; thence South 40020' West, 316. 0 feet; thence South 25°10' West, 269. 93 feet; thence S42053'30" East, 87. 27 feet; thence South 38°58' West, 134. 95 feet to the point of intersection with the North right-of-way line of Westbrook Drive; thence Southeasterly along the Northerly line of said Westbrook Drive, being along a 468. 29 foot radius curve concave to the Northeast an arc distance of 318. 48 feet to the point of tangency (the long chord bears South 70°31.'07" East, 312. 38 feet); thence East 245. 18 feet along the North line of Westbrook Drive, to the point of beginning.
