RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT FOR WATER POLLUTION CONTROL
FACILITY BIOSOLIDS DISPOSAL OPERATIONS (YEAR 2)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, on April 12, 2016, City Council awarded a $60,406.25 contract to Nutri Ject
Systems, Inc., of Hudson, Iowa, to complete the first year of a contract for Biosolids Disposal at the
Water Pollution Control Facility; and,
WHEREAS, the contract is renewable annually for up to a total of three years, dependent
upon successful performance by the contractor each year; and,
WHEREAS, unit rates for annual renewals are pegged to changes in the Consumer Price
Index (CPI) and the Construction Cost Index(CCI), and for this renewal period, the price adjustment
is 2.5%; and,
WHEREAS, all work on the first year's contract was completed to the satisfaction of staff
and in accordance with the requirements of the contract; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends award to Nutri Ject Systems, Inc., for the second year of the
contract in the amount of$50,400; and,
WHEREAS, the FY 2017/18 operating budget includes an allocation of$100,000 for this
work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that award of a contract in the amount of$50,400 to Nutri Ject Systems, Inc., of Hudson, Iowa for
Year 2 of a 3-year contract for Biosolids Disposal Operations is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 23' day of May, 2017.
