HomeMy WebLinkAboutA001 - Resolution No. 80-252 adopted June 17, 1980 CITY OF AMES, IOWA RESOLUTION NUMBER 80-252 BEING A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING THE PLAT OF WEST COURT TERRACE ADDITION TO AMES, IOWA, A REPLAT OF BLOCKS "C" AND "F" , INCLUDING THE ALLEYS AND VACATED STREETS IN FOSTER'S ADDITION TO NEW PHILADELPHIA, NOW INCLUDED IN AND FORMING A PART OF THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA, WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, a plat of West Court Terrace Addition to Ames, Iowa, a Replat of Blocks "C" and "F" , including alleys and vacated streets in Foster's Addition .to New Philadelphia, now included in and forming a part of the City of Ames, Iowa, involving the real estate hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the said plat has been submitted to the City c Plan Commission as required by law and has been returned to this Council with the recommendations of said City Plan Commission; and WHEREAS, Jim Cornwell, Inc. , Grant J. Quam and Betty A. Quam, husband and wife, James E. Cornwell and Janice L. Cornwell, husband and wife, and Robert W. Shirk and Karen L. Shirk, husband and wife, the owners of the real estate herein- after described and to be known as West Court Terrace Addition to Ames, Iowa, a Replat of Blocks "C" and "F" , including alleys and vacated streets in Foster' s. Addition to New Philadelphia, now included in and forming a part of the City of Ames, Iowa, has consented to said plat,. now on file with the City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa; and WHEREAS, it now appears that all conditions and re- quirements have been met as prescribed by Chapter 409 , The Code of Iowa, as amended, and as prescribed by the ordinances of the City of Ames, Iowa; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council of the. City of Ames., Iowa, .that it is advisable and in the best interests of the City of Ames, .Iowa, that said plat be accepted, NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF AMES, IOWA, EGLAND, NEWSROUGH, JOHNSTON, BREWER & MADDUX AMES, IOWA WOK PAGE,2Ii -2- That the plat of West Court Terrace Addition to Ames, Iowa, a Replat of Blocks "C" and "F", including alleys and vacated streets in Foster's Addition to New Philadelphia, now included in and forming a part of the City of Ames, Iowa, involving real estate described as follows, to-wit: All of Blocks "C" and "F" including the alleys (vacated) , the N 1/2 of Union Street (vacated) abutting Block "C" and all of Liberty Street (vacated) lying between Blocks "C" and "F" in Foster's Addition to New Philadelphia, now included in and forming a part of the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa, except beginning at the NW Corner of Lot 2 in said Block "F"; thence East, along the North line of Lot 2 , 50. 0 feet; thence South 80. 0 feet;. thence West, 50 .0 feet; thence North, along the West line of Lots 3 and 2 in Block "F", 80 .0 feet to the place of beginning; And including the E 1/2 of Grove Street- (vacated) , the West 6 feet of Main Street (vacated) presently known as Delaware Avenue, all abutting the above described property and more particularly described as follows: "Beginning at a point which is 33. 0 feet South and 320.0 feet West of the NE Corner NE 1/4 of Section 6 , ,Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M. , in the City of Ames, Story County, Iowa; thence S 000. 47 ' 00 W, along the West line of Delaware Avenue as it now exists, 556. 5 feet; thence S 890 43 ' 30" W, along the centerline of Union Street, as previously platted in New .Philadelphia and now vacated, and an existing fence line, ,236.0 feet; thence N .00°. 47 ' 00" E .along the centerline of Grove Street as previously platted in New Philadelphia and now vacated, 477. 65 feet; thence N 900 00 ' 00" E, along a line parallel to and 113.0 feet South of the North line of NE 1/4, 80 .0 feet; thence N 00.0. 47 ' 00". E, along a line parallel to and 156.0 feet West of the West line of Delaware Avenue, 80 .0 feet; thence N 900.. 00 ' 00". E, along the South line of Ontario Street,. .156.0 .feet to the point of beginning,". be and it is hereby accepted and approved; that all acts and deeds of the said grantors in the premises be and they are hereby confirmed and approved; and that the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Ames, Iowa, be and they are hereby directed to certify the Resolution affixed to said plat.
