RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
MOTOR REPAIR CONTRACT FOR THE POWER PLANT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be made and repaired in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated
as the Motor Repair Contract for the Power Plant; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were
received on the 12th day of February, 2014, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as
prepared by the Finance Department's Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 14th
day of January,2014; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Electrical Engineering and
Equipment Company of Windsor Heights, Iowa, for the period of July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018,
in the amount of$95,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor,and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Electrical Engineering and
Equipment Company of Windsor Heights, Iowa, for the period of July 1, 2017, through
June 30, 2018, in the amount of $95,000, for the Motor Repair Contract for the Power Plant
as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and
the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of
Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $95,000 filed in connection therewith,
be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 9th day of May, 2017.
