SUBJECT: Abandonment of part of a utility easement over Lot 25 Valley
East Subdivision in Ames, Iowa (801-803 Delaware Avenue).
BACKGROUND:
The north ten feet of Lot 25 Valley East Subdivision is designated as a
utility easement. The owner has requested this easement be reduced by
five feet.
The City Engineering Division has contacted Iowa Electric, Heritage Cable,
City of Ames Electric, and U.S. West and they have indicated that a five
foot wide easement is adequate.
MANAGER'S RECOMMENDED ACTION:
It is recommended by the City Manager that the City Council take action to
abandon the south five feet of the 10 foot utility easement in Lot 25 Valley
East.
