Re: Request for release of 5 feet
easement from 10 feet easement
on lot 25,Valley East subdivision
Dear Mayor Larry Curtis and Ames City Council:
We, Yu-Min and Hsiu-Mei Tsai, are the owners of lot 25, Valley
East subdivision, Ames, Iowa. There is a 10 feet easement along
the northern boundary of the lot line. This easement joins with
a 5 feet easement on the adjacent lot which is lot 3 , Farnham
and Manci subdivision, Ames, Ia. This combined 15 feet easement
is used for underground cables along the border line betwwen
these two lots. We believe that 5 feet of 10 feet easement on
lot 25, Valley East , together with the 5 feet easement on the
adjacent lot would be adequate to meet the need for utility
easement. We sincerely request that the southern 5 feet of the
10 feet easement on lot 25, Valley East subdivision be released
to us.

SUBJECT: Utility Easement - Lot 25 Valley East Subdivision
The request of Yu-Min and Hsiu-Mei Tsai to vacate southern 5 feet of the 10
feet easement on the above lot was reviewed by this department. Due to the
presence of 5 feet easement in Lot 3, Farnham and Manci Subdivision (adjacent
to Lot 25), the electric utility will have a 10 feet easement at this
location. This 10 feet easement is adequate for our needs and we would
recommend vacating the southern 5 feet of the 10 feet easement on Lot 25,
Valley East Subdivision.
