HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for City Hall Gymnasium HVAC Renovations RESOLUTION NO. 17-033 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CITY HALL GYMNASIUM HVAC RENOVATIONS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the City Hall Gymnasium HVAC Renovations; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 21St day of December, 2016, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 22"d day of November, 2016; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Converse Conditioned Air, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $182,220.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa, and Converse Conditioned Air,Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$182,220.00 dated the 10'day of January,2017, for the City Hall Gymnasium HVAC Renovations as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Westfield Insurance Company of Westfield Center, Ohio, as surety thereon, in the amount of $182,220.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 24t'' day of January, 2017. -c�� A. Diane R.
