HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Encroachment Permit for sign at 2300 Lincoln Way RESOLUTION NO. 16-721 RESOLUTION APPROVING ENCROACHMENT PERMIT FOR SIGN AT 2300 LINCOLN WAY(THE FOUNDRY) FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the owner of the property at 2300 Lincoln Way is seeking approval for an encroachment permit that would allow a sign to hang into the public way, and, WHEREAS, the proposed sign is a projecting sign mounted to the face of the building, and will extend 36 inches over the sidewalk; and, WHEREAS, the sign permit application for the proposed sign has been reviewed by the Inspections Division and complies with all regulations regarding signage, and the permit application is pending approval contingent upon the approval of the encroachment permit; and, WHEREAS, the Municipal Code requires approval of the encroachment permit application by the Ames City Council before a permit can be issued; and, WHEREAS, the owner has agreed to hold harmless the City of Ames against any loss or liability as a result of the encroachment, to submit proof of insurance, and to pay a fee for the encroachment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Encroachment Permit for a sign at 2300 Lincoln Way is hereby approved.
