HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Electric Administration and Distribution Buildings Roof Replacements RESOLUTION NO. 16-653 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR ELECTRIC ADMINISTRATION AND DISTRIBUTION BUILDINGS ROOF REPLACEMENTS FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Electric Administration and Distribution Buildings Roof Replacements; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 12th day of October, 2016, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division/Finance Department, and filed with the City Clerk on the 13th day of September,2016; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Central States Roofing Company of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $235,000.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor,and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Central States Roofing Company of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $235,000.00 dated the 25th day of October, 2016, for the Electric Administration and Distribution Buildings Roof Replacements as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of West Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $235,000.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 15t' day ofNovember, 2016. _ A. Diane R.
