Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for WPC Facility Trickling Filter Pumping Station Pipe Recoating Project RESOLUTION NO. 16-590 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR PERFORMANCE OF WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY TRICKLING FILTER PUMPING STATION PIPE RECOATING PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water Pollution Control Facility Trickling Filter Pumping Station Pipe Recoating Project;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 20`h day of September,2016,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 23rd day of August, 2016; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of TMI Coatings, Inc., of St. Paul, Minnesota, in the amount of$58,500.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and TMI Coatings, Inc., of St. Paul, Minnesota, in the amount of $58,500.00 dated the 27th day of September, 2016, for the performance of the Water Pollution Control Facility Trickling Filter Pumping Station Pipe Recoating Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with North American Specialty Insurance Company of Manchester,New Hampshire,as surety thereon,in the amount of$58,500.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 11 th day of October, 2016. A. , Diane R.
