HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Encroachment Permit for 116 Welch Avenue RESOLUTION NO. 16-585 RESOLUTION APPROVING ENCROACHMENT PERMITS FOR MULTIPLE ENCROACHMENTS AT 116 WELCH AVENUE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,the owner ofthe property at 116 Welch Avenue is seeking approval for multiple encroachment permits as part of an update to the front facade of the building; and, WHEREAS,the following encroachment permits are being requested: a)the proposed signs are projecting signs that are mounted to the face of the building; b) the proposed stone veneer columns affixed to the exterior of the building will project six inches into the sidewalk,and are about three feet wide per column;c)the proposed caf6-style folding windows will only encroach when the windows are open; and,d)the proposed awning will be mounted to the face of the building and will project 12 inches over the sidewalk; and, WHEREAS,the Municipal Code requires approval of the Encroachment Permit Application by the City Council before a permit can be issued; and, WHEREAS, by signing the application, the owner has agreed to hold harmless the City of Ames against any loss or liability as a result of the encroachment(s); and, WHEREAS,once all documents have been obtained and approved,the Inspections Division will issue a permit for the encroachments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that an Encroachment Permit for the aforementioned encroachments,allowing the applicant to install two signs,an awning,stone veneer columns,and caf6-style windows at 116 Welch Avenue(Arcadia Caf6), is hereby approved.
