Home My WebLink About~Master - Renewal of 28E Agreement for Tobacco, Alternative Nicotine, and Vapor Product enforcement RESOLUTION NO. 16-558 RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF 28E AGREEMENT FOR TOBACCO, ALTERNATIVE NICOTINE,AND VAPOR PRODUCT ENFORCEMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting permission to renew a 28E intergovernmental Agreement with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division(ABD)for enforcement of tobacco, alternative nicotine, and vapor product laws; and, WHEREAS,this agreement provides that the ABD will pay the City of Ames $75 for each compliance check conducted the Ames Police Department; and, WHEREAS,the Police Department will use this funding to continue compliance checks with local retailers related to underage tobacco and alternative nicotine and vapor products enforcement activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that renewal of the 28E Agreement for Tobacco, Alternative Nicotine, and Vapor Product Enforcement with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division is hereby approved.
