RESOLUTION APPROVING AMES INTERMODAL FACILITY COMMERCIAL
TENANT LEASE WITH EXECUTIVE EXPRESS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,under the approved Intermodal Facility Operating Agreement between the City
of Ames and Iowa State University,CyRide staff is charged with negotiating leases for the terminal
area of the building; and,
WHEREAS,last year,staff prepared a one-year agreement for Executive Express that expires
June 30,2016,with its service in operation from the Intermodal Facility beginning July 1,2012;and,
WHEREAS, over the last several months, staff has worked with the carrier to negotiate a
renewal of this agreement that will provide office/waiting room/van storage space for Executive
Express van service to the Des Moines International Airport; and,
WHEREAS,in negotiating a new lease agreement,the following issues were modified in the
new lease agreement: contract term to a three-year agreement with the lease beginning on July 1,
2016, and expiring June 30, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, the Transit Agency Board of Trustees approved this three-year lease at its
April 29, 2016, meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the Ames Intermodal Facility Commercial Tenant Lease Agreement with Executive Express
to expire on June 30, 2019, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 24th day of May, 2016.
