HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Reimbursement Agreement for 161kV Electric Line Relocation Project RESOLUTION NO. 16-183 RESOLUTION APPROVING REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR ENGINEERING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RELOCATION OF THE 161KV ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION LINE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) is preparing to improve the interchange at Interstate 35 (I-35) and U.S. Highway 30 (U.S. 30), and its project will require the relocation of approximately one-half mile of Ames' 16lkV electric transmission line, which is located adjacent to the southeast portion of this interstate; and, WHEREAS, the Reimbursement Agreement addresses easements to be provided by the IDOT to the City and the obligation to reimburse the City for engineering costs associated with the line relocation; and, WHEREAS, a separate Reimbursement Agreement with IDOT will be created once an engineering estimate for the construction costs has been developed and before any additional expenditures are made by the City; and, WHEREAS,the Reimbursement Agreement is for a total estimated cost of$58,000,which is the proposed cost from the engineering firm of Dewild Grant Reckert (DGR) of Rock Rapids, Iowa. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Reimbursement Agreement from the Iowa Department of Transportation for engineering costs associated with the 161 kV Electric Transmission Line relocation is hereby approved.
