HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Motor Repair Contract for Poewr Plant RESOLUTION NO. 16-136 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR MOTOR REPAIR CONTRACT FOR THE POWER PLANT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be made and repaired in the City of Ames,Iowa, such project having been designated as the Motor Repair Contract for the Power Plant; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 12`h day of February, 2014, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department's Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 14`h day of January, 2014; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Electrical Engineering and Equipment Company of Windsor Heights, Iowa, for the period of July 1,2016,through June 30, 2017, in the amount of$125,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Electrical Engineering and Equipment Company of Windsor Heights,Iowa,for the period of July 1,2016,through June 30, 2017,in the amount of$125,000,for the Motor Repair Contract for the Power Plant as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$125,000 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of March, 2016. A. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
