Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and bond for Furman Aquatic Center Pool Basin Repainting Project RESOLUTION NO. 16-099 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FURMAN AQUATIC CENTER POOL BASIN REPAINTING PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Furman Aquatic Center Pool Basin Repainting Project; and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 6th day of January,2016,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 8th day of December, 2015; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Western Waterproofing, d/b/a Western Specialty Contractors of West Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$93,700.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Western Waterproofing, d/b/a Western Specialty Contractors of West Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$93,700.00 dated the 12th day of January, 2016, for performance of the Furman Aquatic Center Pool Basin Repainting Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Western Surety Company of Chicago,Illinois,as surety thereon,in the amount of$93,700.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 1st day of March, 2016. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
