HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2016 Urban Revitalization Tax Abatement Requests RESOLUTION NO. 16-066 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, Zeta Delta House Corporation of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, Inc., has submitted an application dated October 1, 2015, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 307 Ash Avenue; and WHEREAS, said property is located within East University Impacted Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Squeaky Clean, Inc., has submitted an application dated December 1, 2015, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 517 Lincoln Way; and WHEREAS, said property is located within 517 Lincoln Way Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
