RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
2015/16 ASPHALT STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS (DOTSON DRIVE,
BAUGHMAN ROAD, BEEDLE DRIVE,WELLONS DRIVE,WELLONS CIRCLE,
JEFFREY LANE, HARRIS STREET,APLIN ROAD)AND 2015/16 WATER SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENTS (WELLONS DRIVE, WELLONS CIRCLE)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA,AND PROVIDING FOR
NOTICE OF HEARING AND THE TAKING OF BIDS
IN CONNECTION THEREWITH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, has heretofore determined it
advisable and necessary to construct the 2015/16 Asphalt Street Pavement Improvements (Dotson
Drive, Baughman Road,Beedle Drive,Wellons Drive,Wellons Circle,Jeffrey Lane,Harris Street,
Aplin Road)and 2015/16 Water System Improvements(Wellons Drive,Wellons Circle)for the City
of Ames; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary and proper to adopt proposed plans,
specifications,and form of contract as filed with the City Clerk on the 21 st day of January,2016;and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to fix a time and place of hearing on said proposed plans,
specifications and form of contract and to provide for the taking of bids in connection therewith and
to give notice thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
as follows:
Section 1. The proposed plans, specifications and form of contract for the 2015/16 Asphalt
Street Pavement Improvements (Dotson Drive, Baughman Road, Beedle Drive, Wellons
Drive,Wellons Circle,Jeffrey Lane,Harris Street,Aplin Road)and 2015/16 Water System
Improvements (Wellons Drive,Wellons Circle)within the City of Ames, Iowa, are hereby
approved, and the 23rd day of February, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City
Hall, Ames, Iowa, hereby fixed as the time and place of hearing on said proposed plans,
specifications, and form of contract, and also the time and place of considering bids in
connection therewith. Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on the 17th day of
February, 2016, in the office of the City Clerk, Ames, Iowa, at which time they shall be
opened and announced.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of said hearing
on said proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract, and of the taking of bids, by
publication of such notice as prescribed by the Code of Iowa, Sections 26.3 and 362.3. Said
notice shall be in substantially the following form:

Section 3. All provisions set out in said form of contract and notice are hereby recognized
and prescribed by this Council, and all resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
