HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Unit #7 Crane Repair RESOLUTION NO. 15-464 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR PERFORMANCE OF UNIT #7 CRANE REPAIR FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Unit #7 Crane Repair; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the I Wh day of June, 2015, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 241h day of April, 2015; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Kistler Crane and Hoist of Omaha, Nebraska, in the amount of $373,360.45 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Kistler Crane and Hoist of Omaha, Nebraska, in the amount of $373,360.45 dated the 141h day of July, 2015, for the performance of the Unit#7 Crane Repair as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Old Republic Surety Company of the State of Wisconsin, as surety thereon, in the amount of $373,360.45 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28`h day of July, 2015. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
